Website audit
A website audit is a structured review of a live site: what slows the site down, what hides the site from Google and AI assistants, and the fix for each item. Pavlo Zhydkykh audits startup marketing websites, with the price and date fixed in writing after a first call; fixes are quoted separately or cost $30 an hour.

Key takeaways
- A website audit by Pavlo Zhydkykh checks speed, technical SEO, AI visibility, accessibility and content, and ranks every problem by impact.
- Each finding names the page, the element and the fix, so any developer can work from the list.
- For a good user experience, Largest Contentful Paint should occur within 2.5 seconds of the page starting to load.[3]
- WCAG 2.2 sets a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text at level AA.[6]
- AI visibility is part of the audit: robots.txt, the raw HTML, schema and llms.txt are checked against GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot.
What is a website audit?
A website audit is a structured review of a live site that lists what slows the site down, what stops search engines and AI assistants from reading the pages, and what confuses visitors, with a fix for each item. An audit matters because one blocked crawler, one missing redirect or one uncompressed hero video can cost more traffic than a redesign wins back.
“I judge an audit by the fix list, not the score. A finding without a page, an element and a fix gets cut.”
Fit check
Is Website audit
right for you?
A good fit if
- A site that feels slow on a phone or fails Core Web Vitals in Search Console.
- Traffic dropped after a redesign or a platform move and nobody knows why.
- Before a rebuild, to know what to keep, what to fix and what to drop.
- A team that wants a written fix list to hand to a developer.
Not the right fit if
- You only want an automated score: a PageSpeed Insights run is free and takes a minute.
- You need a security or penetration test: this audit covers speed, search, AI visibility and usability, not security.
- You want a monthly SEO report on retainer: Pavlo works per project, with no monthly fee.
Compared
A score vs an audit
Free tools give a number. An audit says which element on which page to change, and why.
| Criterion | Automated score | Website audit |
|---|---|---|
| Output | A number out of 100 | A ranked list of fixes |
| Scope | One URL at a time | Every page template |
| AI visibility | Not checked | robots.txt, raw HTML, schema, llms.txt |
| Advice | Generic suggestions | Your pages, your platform, your CMS |
| Next step | Up to you | A list your developer can work from |
Checklist
7 problems a website audit often finds
The issues Pavlo finds most often on startup marketing sites, in the order of his checks.
1. A hero that loads last
An uncompressed video or image as the Largest Contentful Paint element, pushing mobile LCP past 2.5 seconds.
2. Redirect gaps after a move
Old URLs that return 404 instead of a 301, often listed in Search Console as "Not found".
3. Blocked crawlers
A preview "Disallow: /" left in robots.txt, or a CDN setting that turns away GPTBot and ClaudeBot.
4. Text that needs JavaScript
Tabs, sliders and accordions that load the text only after scripts run, so crawlers see empty sections.
5. Duplicate titles and H1s
Templates that give every CMS page the same title, or two H1s on one page.
6. No answers on the page
No price, timeline or "for whom" anywhere, so neither buyers nor assistants can quote the offer.
7. Low contrast and unlabeled forms
Grey text below WCAG contrast ratios and form fields without labels, which block screen readers and AI agents alike.
How it works
From first call to a ranked fix list
The price and the delivery date are fixed after the first call. The audit runs on your real data, not on a sample page.
| # | Step | When | What happens | You get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | First call | Day 1 | Goals, key pages, platform and what changed on the site recently. | A fixed price and delivery date in writing |
| 02 | Access | After the call | Read access to Search Console and analytics, and editor access if you want fixes later. | Real data instead of guesses |
| 03 | Speed and Core Web Vitals | During the audit | Each page template measured on mobile and desktop in PageSpeed Insights, with the LCP element named. | The slowest pages and why |
| 04 | Technical SEO and AI visibility | During the audit | Status codes, redirects, sitemap, canonicals, schema, robots.txt, raw HTML and llms.txt. | What Google and AI crawlers can read |
| 05 | Content and accessibility | During the audit | Headings, answers to buyer questions, contrast, form labels and keyboard use checked on key pages. | Where visitors and agents get stuck |
| 06 | Report and walkthrough | Delivery date | Every problem listed with the page, the fix and the priority, walked through on a call. | A ranked fix list you keep, with fixes at a quote or $30 an hour |

FAQ
Questions about
Website audit
Still unsure? Ask your AI about Pavlo Zhydkykh:
Q.01How much does a website audit cost?
The audit has a fixed price agreed after a first call, based on the number of page templates and what you want checked. Fixes are quoted separately or done at $30 an hour.
Q.02How long does an audit take?
The delivery date is fixed together with the price, after the first call. A site with a few templates takes less time than one with a blog, cases and two languages.
Q.03What do I need to provide?
The site URL, read access to Google Search Console and analytics, and a note on what changed recently, such as a redesign or a move. Without Search Console the audit still runs, but the indexing data is missing.
Q.04Can my own developer apply the fixes?
Yes. Each item names the page, the element and the fix, so any developer can work from the list, and the report is yours to keep.
Q.05What if the audit finds nothing serious?
Then the report says so, and you do not pay for fixes you do not need. The audit price stays the same either way.
Q.06What happens after the audit?
You decide what gets fixed and by whom. On Framer and Astro + Sanity sites Pavlo can apply the fixes at a fixed quote or $30 an hour, with no retainer.
