What is a design brief?
A design brief is a short document that sets out what a project must deliver: the scope, the function and look, the timing and the budget. On this page the brief is an email written from eight short questions, and Pavlo Zhydkykh prices the project from that email.
“The best first emails are short: what you need, by when, and a link to the current site. I ask about the rest.”

Checklist
6 things to put in your first email
Each one makes the first call shorter and the quote more exact. The brief on this page asks Pavlo Zhydkykh's questions for you.
1. What you need
A landing page, a multi-page site, a migration, a Lottie or Rive animation, or product design. The project type sets the start price, from $1,000 for an animation to $3,000 for a multi-page site.
2. The platform, or "not sure"
Framer for fast launches and visual editing, Astro + Sanity for top speed and full ownership. "Not sure" is a fine answer: Pavlo recommends one on the call.
3. When the site should go live
As soon as possible, within a month, in 2 to 3 months or no date yet. A landing page takes 1 to 2 weeks, a multi-page site 2 to 4 weeks.
4. Your current website
For a redesign or a move, the old site matters: every old URL gets a 301 redirect to a new page, so Google traffic is kept.
5. The pages and the goals
List the pages you need and what each page should do: book demos, explain pricing, answer buyer questions. Links to sites you like help too.
6. Your name and email
Pavlo replies to the address you give. The company is optional, and nothing from the brief is stored on the site.
Fit check
Is writing to Pavlo now
right for you?
A good fit if
- You know the project type: a landing page, a multi-page site, a migration, an animation or product design.
- You want a fixed price and a timeline before you commit any budget.
- You are choosing between Framer and Astro + Sanity and want advice from someone who builds on both.
- Your site runs on Webflow, WordPress or Wix and you want to move without losing Google traffic.
Not the right fit if
- You need a Webflow, WordPress or Shopify build: Pavlo builds only on Framer and Astro + Sanity.
- You want a monthly retainer: Pavlo works per project, then at $30 an hour when needed.
- You only want to know whether AI assistants see your site: the free AI visibility check answers that, with a report in 48 hours.
Compared
A vague first email or a useful one
Both get a reply. The useful one gets a time to talk and, after the talk, a fixed price, without a round of questions first.
| Criterion | A vague first email | A useful first email |
|---|---|---|
| Project | "We need a new website" | "A landing page on Framer, with a blog later" |
| Date | Not mentioned | "Live within a month" |
| Current site | Not mentioned | A link, plus the pages that bring traffic |
| Goal | "Something modern" | "More demo bookings from the pricing page" |
| Pavlo replies with | A list of questions | A time to talk, then one fixed price |
