After the site already looks right

Framer SEO and performance

Framer gives you a fast shell and almost none of the decisions that matter. Heading structure, image weight, what the crawler can actually reach, whether a page carries schema — none of that is a switch. I measure what your site does on real devices, fix what is costing you, and hand back the numbers either way.

What actually gets measured

Six mechanisms decide whether a page is fast and whether it can be found at all. Each tile below draws the real thing, live, instead of showing you a score out of a hundred.

What LCP actually measures

Largest Contentful Paint is the moment your biggest visible element finishes painting — usually the hero image or the headline. Everything before that frame is a visitor looking at an empty page and deciding whether to wait.

Layout shift, side by side

Cumulative Layout Shift counts content that moves after it was already drawn. Reserving the space an image is going to need is the entire fix.

The request waterfall

Fonts and stylesheets block the first render. Almost everything else can wait. Most slow Framer sites are slow because the order is wrong, not because the files are large.

How a crawler reaches a page

A page nothing links to is a page Google will rarely visit and almost never rank, however good it is. Internal linking is the cheapest ranking work available, and it is the work most sites skip.

Schema becomes a rich result

JSON-LD tells search engines and language models what a page actually is. It is also how breadcrumbs, FAQ rows and product data get into the result itself instead of a plain blue link.

Why taps feel slow

Interaction to Next Paint measures the wait between a tap and the screen changing. One long script blocks it. The same work, split into chunks that hand control back, does not.

The numbers a page ships against

Not a score out of a hundred. Six thresholds a page is held to, and what a visitor actually feels the moment one of them is missed.

2.5s
LCPLargest Contentful Paint
Past this, visitors are still looking at an empty hero — and the impatient ones have already gone back.
200ms
INPInteraction to Next Paint
Past this a tap feels broken, so people tap the same button again and you count the same person twice.
0.1
CLSCumulative Layout Shift
Past this the thing they were reaching for moves as they reach for it. That is the mis-tap people blame on your site.
800ms
TTFBTime to First Byte
Past this everything downstream is already late, and no amount of optimising afterwards gets that time back.
3clicks
DEPTHCrawl depth from home
Deeper than this and a crawler visits rarely. Most orphan pages are one internal link away from being fine.
100%
INDEXABLEPages that can be indexed
Every page you want found returns 200, sits in the sitemap, and carries no noindex left behind from staging.

When this is worth paying for, and when it is not

Half of the enquiries I get about SEO are better answered with a sentence than an invoice. These are the four cases where measurement pays for itself, and the four where it does not.

Worth itYour rankings sit below where they should be and nobody can tell you which part is the problem. One measurement replaces six months of guessing.
Worth itThe site feels fine on your laptop and slow on a phone.Mobile is where most of the traffic is, and where most of the loss already happened.
Worth itYou are about to migrate platforms and the rankings have to survive it.Redirects are cheap to map before launch and expensive to reconstruct after.
Worth itYou publish steadily and almost nothing new gets indexed. That is usually structure rather than content, and structure is fixable in days.
Skip itThe site launched last week and has no real traffic yet.Field data does not exist yet, and lab scores on an empty site say very little.
Skip itYou want one particular keyword ranked by next month.Nobody can honestly sell you that, and the people who try are selling something else.
Skip itOne third-party script you already control is the whole problem.Delete it yourself and keep the money.
Skip itEvery number is already green and traffic is still flat. Then it is the offer or the writing, and no amount of speed will move it.

How the work runs

01

Measure

Field Core Web Vitals if the site has traffic, lab runs if it does not, plus a crawl of every URL that actually exists. You get the data file itself, not a screenshot of a score.

02

Prioritise

Every finding is ranked by what it is costing you, not by how easy it is to fix. You see the whole list before anything is touched, and you are free to hand it to someone else.

03

Fix

The work happens inside your Framer project: image weights, font loading, heading structure, schema, internal links and redirects. Nothing leaves the platform and no plugin gets added.

04

Verify

The same measurements run again after the fixes, side by side with the first set. If a number did not move, the report says so instead of quietly leaving it out.

What it costs

Fixed figures, agreed before anything starts. No hourly billing and no monthly retainer.

Built in

$0

on every site I build

Core Web Vitals, heading structure, schema and indexation are part of the build itself, not something sold back to you after launch.

Audit

$600

fixed price, about a week

Measurements on real devices, a full crawl, and a prioritised fix list you can hand to anyone — including someone who is not me.

Audit and fixes

from $1,200

and up, scoped after the audit

The audit plus the work itself, quoted once we both know what is actually wrong instead of guessing beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Does Framer handle SEO automatically?

It handles the plumbing — server-rendered HTML, a sitemap, editable meta tags and fast hosting. It does not decide your heading hierarchy, write your schema, compress your hero image, or link your pages to each other. Those are the parts that move rankings, and they are all built by hand.

Why is my Framer site slow on mobile?

Almost always image weight and font loading rather than Framer itself. A hero exported at desktop resolution, several font weights loading before the first paint, and a video that autoplays on a phone will each cost more than everything else combined.

What are Core Web Vitals and do they affect rankings?

Three measurements Google takes from real visitors: Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds, and Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1. They are a genuine ranking signal, but a small one — they decide close calls rather than overturning better content.

Can you add schema markup to a Framer site?

Yes. JSON-LD goes in as a code component or in the page custom code, and it can be driven by the CMS so every blog post or project carries its own structured data instead of one hand-written block sitting on the home page.

Will an audit tell me which keywords to target?

No. This is technical work — speed, structure, crawlability and markup. Keyword strategy and content are a different job, and I will say so rather than sell you a thin version of it.

How long before I see results?

Performance changes show up in field data in about four weeks, once enough real visits have been collected. Indexation and structural fixes usually appear in Search Console inside two weeks. Ranking movement is slower and depends on far more than the site itself.

Can you fix a site you did not build?

Yes, and that is most of this work. It needs to be a Framer project and I need edit access. Anything on another platform is a migration conversation instead.

Send me the URL and I will tell you what is wrong with it

One link is enough for a first read. You get the three things costing you the most, in plain language, whether or not you end up hiring me for the rest.
